This year, the Reading Radio Club of Reading, PA is celebrating their
100th anniversary as both as an Amateur Radio Club and affiliation with
ARRL.
The Reading Radio Club is conducting a special event station activating
their club call – W3BN - on Saturday, Sept. 24.
Details:
The Reading Radio Club in Reading, PA is celebrating its 100th birthday
with a Special Event Station – W3BN – on Saturday, September 24,
2022 from 9 a.m. EDT (1300 UTC) – 9 p.m. EDT (0200 UTC).
Look for W3BN on 10, 15, 20, 40 or 80 meters SSB on Saturday, Sept. 24.
You can also check out your favorite DX Cluster to find out where the
stations are operating.
Reading Radio Club members will be operating three HF stations from the
Reading, PA area for a 12-hour period.
Operators will also be operating a VHF station from Reading’s famous
Pagoda atop Mount Penn from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24
making contacts on 146.550 MHz (simplex).
To get a personalized, color certificate commemorating the contact and
featuring the Pagoda, send your log data confirming the contact in an
email to w3bn100@gmail.com. Make sure you include your call sign, band
worked, time and date, and your name in the email. CERTIFICATES ONLY.
