Once or twice a year Parts Express ([Only mods are allowed to see this link] runs a good sale.
Soldering stations:
- A 48 watt temperature-controlled soldering station (item #374-200), normally $60.98, is on sale for $44.98. I've had one of these for years. Replacement tips and replacement irons are very inexpensive. "Temperature controlled" means that the tip is held at a constant temperature whether at rest or in use. This contrasts with cheaper "variable" temperature irons which are not thermostatically controlled.
- There is a similar station with a digital display on sale for $59.98 rather than $79.88. (item # 374-300)
Speakers:
- Pair of two-way speakers with 4 1/2" woofers for $27.88 rather than $45.99. I use these in my shack. They're not what you'd buy for a booming music system but they're quite good for radio use.
- Pair of two-way speakers with 6 1/2" woofers for $36.88 rather than $51.99.
FYI,
Chuck
